3-day/2-night. winter 2023 (contact us for dates)

Join a yoga-themed kayak trip in the beautiful Florida Keys with Burnham Guides. We will again be joined by Kripalu-trained yoga instructor Joanna Ezinga for a very special kayak camping expedition in the Lower Keys.

We call it “kayak-asana.”

Paddle across crystal clear Caribbean-blue waters to a primitive island for yoga practice, kayaking, snorkeling, bird-watching and walking the long, deserted beach to find your special place to meditate. We'll also do an optional beach clean-up.

The miniature, endangered Key Deer will be our campground companions.

Joanna will help us greet each morning with an asana to awaken the body and mind in preparation for the day ahead. At the close of the paddling day, our yoga practice will include gentle movement and stretches to release tension and address areas of concern to paddlers: the lower back, hip flexors, and upper body.

Throughout the day, opportunities for mindful paddling will be offered, such as linking the paddle stroke to the breath: “kayak-asana.”

This retreat will use nature, yoga, meditation, mantra, and journaling to tap into the Heart Chakra, reconnect us to compassion and empathy, and create a pathway for openness and love.

Singles and couples welcome. Beginner yogis welcome, but some sea kayak experience is required. Paddling distance is a moderate 8-10 miles/day to allow time for yoga practice. Those who want to paddle more certainly may.
